HPM Technologie GmbH belongs to the 100 most innovative companies in the German Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises. This is the result of the recent study within the nationwide and cross-sectoral comparison of companies "Top 100". The Middle Class Company convinced at the 17 round of the renowned
economical initiative with a customised innovation management. This treasured certificate “Top 100” has been handed over of Lothar Späth, Prime Minister of the Federal State Baden Württemberg (retired) during a ceremony in the guest house Petersberg in Königswinter on 26.06.2009.

The mentor of this Middle Class initiative appreciates herewith the benefits of HPM in the areas of "Innovative Promoting Top Management", "Innovation climate", "Innovative Processes and Organisation" as well as "Innovation Success".

This award received the middle class company, that is meanwhile 64 years old and that belongs to the pioneers of the minimum quantity technology since decades, especially for his benefits in “Innovative Processes and Organisation”. “Our Innovation process follows clear rules stated by our quality management, said Klaus-Peter Barthold, Sales Manager of the company in Münsingen. “Compared with other firms -everything is going very fast in our company, initiating with the first idea up to the product maturity.“The company size is also very advantageous. Each of the 25 employees knows at any one time which tasks are carried out in the other work areas. This shortens the decision making process. If a new idea is conceived - either by way of customer contact or in-house - it is firstly submitted to management. There a decision is made whether the suggestion can be realised on a technical level. Should management find the idea feasible, each different department will check the details, such as the costs, development duration, possible co-operation partners and the expected demand.

The most important point for the classification among the best 100 is the latest innovation of HPM GmbH is: HPM Breeze. The complete new lubrication procedure for chipping work processes is a quantum lead compared to previous lubrication procedures such as cooling lubrications and minimum quantity lubrication. HPM Breeze offers an enormous improvement from the economical as well as from the ecological view. Besides the technical engineering development, HPM brought the idea of his manager to the maturity phase that is precisely oriented on the different requirements in the market. Further development works in view of other processes, where cooling lubricant is applied, are already pre-defined at HPM. Due to the HPM Breeze procedure, these large quantities of cooling lubricants should also become a thing of the past in metal forming in the near future.

For this honour the company had to get through a two-stage process of the University of Economics in Wien. “Our results show that the 100-Top Innovators take the challenges energetically and therefore, for example, are well prepared for the current financial situation.“ Innovation is for the most of these companies a matter for the management”, commented the Scientific Manager of this study, Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke this analysis. According to this, all companies awarded achieved two-third of his turnover with Innovations and Innovative improvements of the present three years- at a comparison group of German middle class companies it is just about 30 %. Furthermore, the top-class companies were able to save 12% of their costs by new process innovations, whereas the average middle-class companies were able to save only 4%. The consequence: Among this year's “Top 100” are 54 national market leaders, 22 of them are worldwide the number one in their field of work. Manager Hanspeter Münzing is happy about this success: Our innovative strength has been proven now to be among the best that the German medium sized companies have to offer. That strengts our authenticity and provide confidence to our employees, partners and especially our customers. There is no better way to meet the crisis.
